This delightful cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Strathtay with the towns of Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and Dunkeld a short drive away, making this the perfect base from which to explore this stunning area.
Within walking distance of the cottage you can find a well-stocked shop & post office, two restaurants and the award winning Highland Chocolatier.
For outdoor enthusiasts Strathtay boasts an immaculate golf course, fishing on the River Tay, rafting, kayaking, mountain biking and some breathtaking walks.

There are lots of great restaurants in Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, and just a short walk from Squirrel Cottage is the Inn on the Tay - serving great food, and often having live music, or a quiz night.
One of our favourites is the Inn on The Tay, who offer our guests 10% discount off food!
Another local place, within walking distance is the Grandtully Hotel by Ballintaggart a lovely spot focusing on exceptional Scottish food.
There are adventures to be had right here on our doorstep! You can enjoy canyoning, white water rafting, kayaking and cliff jumping all organised by Free Spirits in Grandtully.
Scottish Quads also offers fun days out, with treks to suit all abilities they have something for everyone.
A little further afield in Pitlochry you can even do a bungee jump with Highland Fling Bungee - only for the brave!!!
The famous House of Bruar is around 25 minutes drive from Squirrel Cottage, where you can browse through the halls of country clothing, cashmere, household goods and art gallery. The food hall is the perfect place to pick up some nibbles too!.
The Watermill Bookshop, cafe & Gallery in Aberfeldy, a unique experience, housed in a grade A listed former watermill.
Spirit of Wood is situated in an elevated position overlooking Aberfeldy, selling quality furniture, Home Accessories and Giftware.
This beautiful area of Highland Perthshire really is a walkers paradise, whether you enjoy a relaxing stroll along the riverside, or tackling a munro or 2, its all here.
The Birks of Aberfeldy is only a short drive away, as are the Falls of Acharn, and the mighty Ben Lawers.
The cottage is on the Strathtay to Pitlochry section of " The Rob Roy Way" or you can walk along the river path to Aberfeldy.
Try the Hot Box in Kenmore, a loch side sauna with panoramic views of Loch Tay, followed by a dip in the giant Hydro Pool with a glass of bubbly.
Alternatively you can relax and indulge at the Woodland Spa at Fonab Castle or The Lavender Spa at the Atholl Palace Hotel, Pitlochry.

Beautiful place in a beautiful part of the world. Was met with a roaring fire on arrival and by a lovely host, who was willing to answer any question and give local advice.
Perfect for Family breaks, Red Squirrel Cottage has 1 double room and 1 room with twin beds.

Great quiet location. Very comfortable accommodation with everything you need for a short break. The property owners were very welcoming.
There's nothing quite like the warm glow and comforting heat of a log fire to set the tone.
Enjoyed the real fire. A treat to see the squirrels feeding just outside our window. Beds very comfy. Good stock of games and walking books too.
As the name suggest, we have regular visits from red squirrels at the cottage.
Great location with lots to see and do close by, yet the cottage was in a quiet country village. Loved the red squirrels. The space was excellent and comfortable.
Dogs are more than welcome, however, there will be a small charge of £10 per dog, per night payable at the property.
Perfect for us along with our little dog . Situated in beautiful Strathtay the cottage was immaculate and very well provided for.
